Marcus Abraham graduated from Victory Christian Center School in Charlotte, NC. In 2015 he earned the NC Milesplit Field Athlete of the Year, Charlotte Observer Field Athlete of the Year (three times), four-times earned USATF All-America Honors, and swept the outdoor titles in the Shot Put and Discus all four years at the North Carolina State Meet. Marcus holds the NCISSA Division I state record in the Shot Put and Discus. He also broke the Mecklenburg County record in the Shot Put, a record that has stood for 35 years. Marcus played football in high school, were he was coached by post collegiate and post professional football athletes including Randy Moss. His high school team ended up winning State Championship his senior year of 2015.
In college at Gardner-Web, he was a three-time Big South Conference Champion for the Runnin’ Bulldogs, sweeping the Shot Put at the indoor and outdoor meets in 2017 after capturing the outdoor titles in 2016. His indoor Shot Put title came with a personal-best mark of 17.40m (57-01.00), which also broke the school record at GWU. Coach Abraham was conference runner-up in the indoor Shot Put (2016) and outdoor Discus (2017) and also placed third in the indoor Weight Throw at the 2017 meet, scoring 16 points for his team. At the University of Cincinnati, Coach Abraham ranks among the Top 10 All-Time in Program history in both Shot Put events, ranking second all time in indoor with 17.63m (57-82.00) and fifth outdoors at 17.84m (58-51.00).
Marcus became a personal trainer in 2019, with his certification from ISSA. He first started as a personal trainer at Golds Gym in Rock Hill, SC, were he helped 30+ clients reach their fitness goals. Now Marcus is part of the Elite Training Team with Mountain Island Fitness as a personal trainer, and can not wait to help others accomplish their fitness goals as well!
